The e-Learning Conference investigates the uses of technologies in learning, including devices with sophisticated computing and networking capacities which are now pervasively part of our everyday lives. The Conference explores the possibilities of new forms of technology-mediated learning devices not only in the classroom, but in a wider range of places and times than was conventionally the case for education. These are the key themes and scope and concerns of the conference and its companion journal.
We are inviting proposals for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, or colloquia (See Proposal Types) addressing e-learning and innovative pedagogies through one of the following themes:
Proposal ideas that extend beyond these thematic areas will also be considered. For more information about the ideas and themes underlying this community, see Our Focus.
We also offer participation options for those individuals who cannot attend the conference. Authors who wish to submit an article for potential publication in Ubiquitous Learning: An International Journal may submit a Proposal for Article Submission, while all members of the knowledge community with an accepted proposal may submit an online presentation to the knowledge community YouTube channel.
Located just outside Portland, the 2014 e-Learning and Innovative Pedagogies Conference will be held at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, USA. A commitment to "collaborative scholarly and creative activities" has made a very close-knit and diverse community on campus. In 2011 Pacific University established a new Center for Educational Technology and Curricular Innovation to help encourage and support the use of digital and online technologies in teaching and learning at the university. The e-Learning Conference is proud to partner with Pacific University and to continue the conversation of the meaning of contemporary learning and education.
